In Australia, Medicare does cover some physiotherapy services, but you must have a referral from a GP to meet certain eligibility criteria, with a gap payment also required on the day of the service.
Your GP must either diagnose you with a chronic condition, or you have complex care needs which are managed under a formalised plan, such as a shared care or team care arrangement. You will then be issues with a physiotherapy referral under this chronic disease management plan.
You’ll need to make sure that you choose a physiotherapy clinic that accepts Medicare referrals, and be aware that there may be waiting periods and a limited range of services and number of sessions which are available.
Most of us lead busy lifestyles these days, so at Kinetic Rehabilitation + Performance, we’ve made it easier for you to receive Payneham physiotherapy services not just on weekdays, but also the weekend. For your convenience, we’re available for appointments on Saturdays from 8am-12pm. At this stage, we are closed Sundays, but our clinic is open from 8am-6pm Monday to Thursday, and 8am-4pm on Friday.
